The 2010 Arctic Bicycle Club bike swap was a success with hundreds of people attending the event at the AT&T Sports Complex in Anchorage.
The event immediately took off from the time of setup and we hope to adjust for that next year in our advertising. The peak of the event was about 1:30pm when there were about 4-5 rows of gears and people completely filling the AT&T Complex’s soccer field.
By 2:15pm inventories started running low for people who brought stuff to sell and people started packing up and by 3pm the event was essentially over.
Next year we plan on a shorter setup time, with access to the setup period mostly restricted to the bike club and any shops wanting to setup that require more time to do so. Then the doors will open for the ‘free for all’ event.
Those asked who brought stuff to sell were happy with the results of the sale and many people walked away happy with a purchase.
