Rover’s Run Officially Closed due to Bear Threat May 29->October 2009

Mayor and the Director of Parks and Recreation will officially close Mellen’s Way / Rover’s Run tomorrow 5/29 due to the returning salmon run and the associated high bear risk.  Trail barricades will be placed at the east end of Rovers at the Gas Line, the Moose Meadow Connector at Black Bear Trail intersection and the west end of Rovers at the Viewpoint intersection.  The closure will be for the summer months with the reopening in October.

8:30 a.m. Coffee and Pastries
9:00 a.m. Ribbon Cutting and remarks
9:15 a.m. National Trails Day volunteer work
(If you have them, bring work gloves, water,
loppers, hand saws, shovels, rakes, brushcutters,
etc.)
12:00 p.m. Pizza party
Campbell Creek
Science Center
2:00 p.m. Go ride the trails!
